Earthworks & Site Preparation

What's Hidden Beneath Your New Lawn Could Ruin It

Earthworks and site preparation aren't glamorous. But they're arguably the most critical phase of any landscaping project. Wrong excavation depths. Poor compaction. Inadequate bases. These invisible shortcuts create visible problems—sinking pavers, shifting retaining walls, and lawns that never drain properly.

RH Landscaping treats site preparation as the foundation of everything that follows. Get this right, and your landscaping performs for decades. Get it wrong, and you're looking at expensive fixes down the track.

Professional Approach to Groundwork

Every significant excavation starts with Dial Before You Dig. We locate underground services to avoid damaging water mains, electrical cables, gas lines, and communications. From there, we excavate to specified depths, compact appropriately, and bring in quality base materials.

Equipment for Any Access

We have access to a full range of equipment—from compact dingo loaders for tight access through to excavators and bobcats for larger sites. For major earthworks, we can bring in dozers through our civil construction network. Whatever your site requires, we have the capability.

Drainage Solved Upfront

Drainage problems are far easier (and cheaper) to solve during earthworks than after your landscaping is complete. We assess natural water flow, install strip drains where paving meets garages, and put in soak wells for downpipes. Proper hardscape falls prevent pooling and direct water where it should go.

Why Perth Homeowners Choose RH

We focus on quality over speed. That means attention to detail others skip—like hand-fluffing mulch after installation, proper soil compaction for lawns that stay firm, and irrigation systems designed for easy future maintenance.

When issues arise, we think on our feet. We don't disappear. We don't ghost. And we back our work—if something needs fixing, we're there the next day.
